what is the best way to get a job when you don't have much experience?

I have been out of work since 2002 mainly because I have been trying to finish up school so evrytime employers ask me what have I been doing since 2002 I say I have been In school. So what can I do to turn this situation in the mean time because I am only 30 credit hours away from my B.S. IN JOURNALISM but I need money now!
